Are you proud of your smile? Do you look at magazine models and television stars wishing you had the same confident grin they have? If your front teeth are discolored and stained, chipped, cracked, slightly misaligned, or have metal fillings, consider veneers. Made from thin sheaths of porcelain, veneers can completely cover the front of your teeth to create a perfectly shaped, dazzlingly white, absolutely gorgeous smile.
Veneers can transform a smile in just a few dental visits. Handcrafted from durable porcelain, custom shaded to blend with your existing teeth, veneers are semi-translucent shells that are bonded to your natural teeth. Porcelain veneers can mask stained, chipped, cracked, worn, or otherwise damaged teeth in the smile zone. Veneers can also close gaps and cover misshapen teeth. They change the appearance of a smile by altering color, shape, size, and overall appearance of teeth. Dental patients across the globe have experienced increased confidence and success through smile makeovers with porcelain veneers. You deserve the smile of your dreams, and veneers can give it to you!
You will need to schedule an hour or two for your initial appointment, and you may want to bring photos or magazine clippings to show us the kind of smile you prefer. After a thorough examination to assess your oral health and existing dentition, Dr. Doctor will discuss with you the kind of smile you envision. Be prepared to discuss the color and shape of your ideal smile at this appointment. Dr. Doctor will take notes on the shade of your teeth, your facial features, and measurements of your face. He’ll consider your skin tone and facial symmetry when designing your veneers. If you have questions about your veneers or the procedure, any of us will be happy to provide answers.
During the first appointment, you will have local anesthetic administered to ensure your complete comfort during tooth preparation. Dr. Doctor will gently buff your teeth to remove 1 to 2 mm of enamel in preparation for your new veneers. Tooth reduction will allow the veneers to lie flat, in line with surrounding teeth. Reshaping of teeth may also be required to create the look you want.
An impression of your teeth will be taken and sent to our talented, world-class ceramist at the lab where your veneers will be handcrafted to Dr. Doctor’s specifications. Sometimes we have a technician from the lab come to our office to do a color match to ensure your veneers will complement and blend with the color of your other teeth. Before you leave the dental chair, temporary veneers will be placed. Your teeth may be slightly sensitive until the porcelain veneers are bonded into place.
You will return to the office in a few weeks to have your new porcelain veneers bonded into place and you will be ready to enjoy a completely new smile!
