Throughout her career, Carmen has pursued extensive continuing education alongside Dr. Doctor, attending advanced training in implant dentistry, bone grafting, digital dentistry, guided surgery, comprehensive treatment planning, and complex restorative procedures. She has also completed advanced educational programs focused on airway-centered dentistry, sleep-disordered breathing, oral-systemic health, and comprehensive wellness, allowing her to better educate patients on the important relationship between breathing, sleep quality, oral health, and overall health.
Her continuing education also includes advanced training in the Pinhole® Surgical Technique, where she attended the same educational program designed to teach clinicians this minimally invasive approach to gum recession treatment. While Carmen does not perform surgical procedures, her training allows her to educate patients, coordinate care, assist during treatment, and help patients understand every phase of the procedure and recovery process.
In addition to her administrative leadership, Carmen has attended numerous advanced surgical and implant training programs with Dr. Doctor and has assisted in both national and international continuing education courses where dentists receive advanced instruction in implant dentistry, guided surgery, bone augmentation, and complex surgical techniques. Working alongside hundreds of advanced surgical and restorative cases has provided her with an exceptional understanding of comprehensive patient care, surgical workflow, digital technology, and treatment coordination.
Carmen has also pursued specialized training in advanced dental technologies and patient care, including 3D cone beam CT imaging, digital intraoral scanning, nitrous oxide monitoring, CPR and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), phlebotomy, digital workflow integration, and emerging technologies that enhance diagnosis, communication, and patient outcomes. Cari
Advanced Wellness Hygienist & Airway Health Advocate
Cari is a Registered Dental Hygienist who combines genuine compassion with advanced clinical training to provide comprehensive, wellness-focused care. She is passionate about helping patients understand that oral health extends far beyond the teeth and gums, serving as an important window into overall health and well-being. Through education, prevention, and personalized care, Cari empowers patients to take an active role in improving both their oral health and their quality of life.
As a mother of five children, Cari understands the importance of patience, communication, trust, and creating an environment where every patient feels comfortable, respected, and genuinely cared for. Patients appreciate her gentle touch, calming demeanor, and the time she invests in listening, answering questions, and ensuring they feel informed and confident throughout every visit.
Cari believes preventive dentistry should involve much more than routine cleanings. Her philosophy centers on identifying the underlying causes of oral disease while educating patients about the powerful relationship between oral bacteria, inflammation, gum disease, airway health, sleep quality, systemic health, nutrition, and long-term wellness. She is passionate about helping patients recognize how conditions within the mouth can influence the rest of the body and how early diagnosis, prevention, and minimally invasive intervention can significantly improve lifelong health outcomes.
Throughout her career, Cari has pursued extensive continuing education in advanced periodontal therapy, oral-systemic health, airway-focused dentistry, sleep-disordered breathing, preventive therapies, salivary diagnostics, bacterial management, laser-assisted periodontal care, and comprehensive hygiene treatment. Her advanced airway and sleep training allows her to recognize signs and symptoms that may suggest obstructive sleep apnea, upper airway resistance, mouth breathing, or other airway-related conditions that often go undiagnosed. By working closely with Dr. Doctor, she helps identify patients who may benefit from additional screening, diagnostic testing, or treatment that can improve both their oral health and overall wellness.
Cari also focuses on helping patients understand the role that inflammation, dry mouth, oral bacteria, clenching, grinding, acid exposure, and airway dysfunction can play in the progression of dental disease and systemic conditions. She believes patient education is one of the most valuable tools in healthcare and enjoys partnering with patients to develop personalized strategies that support healthier smiles and healthier lives.
Understanding that many individuals have experienced dental anxiety or previous negative dental experiences, Cari strives to create a welcoming, judgment-free environment where patients feel heard, supported, and encouraged—not rushed or overwhelmed. Her compassionate approach allows patients to feel at ease while receiving exceptional preventive and periodontal care.
Whether she is performing advanced hygiene therapy, evaluating periodontal health, discussing oral-systemic connections, screening for airway concerns, educating patients about home care, or guiding them through treatment recommendations, Cari is committed to delivering care that is both clinically exceptional and deeply personal.
Her dedication to lifelong learning, evidence-based dentistry, whole-body wellness, and patient-centered care makes Cari an invaluable member of our team and a trusted partner in helping patients achieve healthier smiles, better sleep, improved overall health, and lasting wellness.
